James Njuguna Mwangi is Group CEO & Non-Independent Executive Director at Equity Group Holdings Plc and Non-Executive Chairman at Equity Group Foundation (a subsidiary of Equity Group Holdings Plc). Dr. Mwangi is also Chancellor at Meru University of Science & Technology and on the board of 7 other companies.

He previously occupied the position of Chairman of Kenya Vision 2030, Director-Risk Management at African Export-Import Bank and Chief Executive Officer & Managing Director at Equity Investment Bank Ltd.
