Renault-Nissan alliance operating board to meet by the end of January: Senard

Renault chairman Jean-Dominique Senard said on Thursday the operating board of the Renault-Nissan alliance would meet by the end of January to decide on joint industrial initiatives.

Senard declined to go into the details of what these joint projects might be. He said cost savings could be "substantial" in the future but did not elaborate.

Senard stressed in front of reporters he was no longer worried about the future of the French carmaker's alliance with its Japanese partner, adding all the parameters were now in place for it to succeed.

Jean-Dominique Senard

Jean-Dominique Senard is currently the Chairman of Renault SA and the Vice Chairman of Nissan Motor Co., Ltd.
He is also the Chairman of Entreprises pour l'Environnement.
In addition, he serves as the Lead Independent Director of Compagnie de Saint-Gobain SA and as a Director of Renault SAS.
Senard is a Member-Supervisory Board of Fives SA. Previously, Senard held the position of Chief Executive Officer & General Partner at Compagnie Générale des Établissements Michelin SCA from 1996 to 2019.
He was also the Chairman of Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Enterprises and an Independent Director at SEB SA from 2009 to 2013.
Senard served as the President & Director of Renault SAS from 2019 to 2020.
He was the Head-Primary Aluminum Sector at Pechiney SA from 2001 to 2004 and the Managing Partner of Compagnie Financiere du Groupe Michelin from 2005 to 2017.
Senard obtained a graduate degree from École des Hautes Études Commerciales de Paris.
