Texsun AB
Texsun AB Alternative Power GenerationUtilities Texsun AB is an expansive Clean Tech corporation. With its production facility situated in the Northern part of Sweden the company produces solar collectors, energy collectors and flexible heat exchangers for the global market. The company was formed in 1997 and the following year the inventor of the flexible solar collector was awarded the prestigious National Skapa Prize for innovation at the Scandinavian Technical Fair. In the early days a lot of effort was put in to product development and the building of the factory with its fully automated machine line. In 2003 Texsun was reorganized under new ownership led by local entrepreneur Per-Martin Holmgren and the municipal utility company Skellefteå Kraft AB. Work was immediately started on building up the new Texsun and during 2004 staff were hired and a market oriented expansion begun. During 2005 and 2006 marketing efforts were focused mainly on gaining market shares in the pool heating market. During this period Texsun made its first sales to countries outside of the home market and the El Niño brand was launched. El Niño quickly became an export success and focus moved further towards sales outside of Sweden. Ackra Invest AB (partly owned by Skellefteå Kraft AB) became new co-owners of Texsun. During 2007 the El Niño family was expanded with new add on products to complement the concept. During the summer the X-COVER brand was launched at full scale with good sales figures in the home market. The year of 2007 also saw the light of a remodelling of Texsun's standard collector brand and the standard collector was renamed X-FLOW PRO with renewed focus on primarily larger pools. At the beginning of 2008 Behemot AB became new co-owner of Texsun. At the same time the new product X-FLOW Kit was launched as a higher end DIY retail concept. During the second half of this year Texsun has introduced its products into Australia and New Zealand with El Niño taken on by the Bunnings retail chain. | Director/Board Member | - |
