At the age of 13 years, Max Azria left his native Tunisia for France. He settled in the Parisian district of the Sentier, where he developed a passion for the world of textiles. At 20, he launched his clothing line in Paris. For ten years, he works hard and tries, unsuccessfully, to spread his vision of fashion.

In 1981 he moved to Los Angeles hoping decentralized fashion to the West Coast. At this time everything happens in New York but Max Azria is betting to settle in the heart of the star system and bets on the influence of Hollywood stars on the behavior of women dress.

In 1989, Max Azria launched two brands with his wife, Lubov Azria, who is the muse and the artistic director of the company: Max Azria Collection and BCBG Max Azria. This mark takes the French phrase "bon chic, bon genre". He opened a shop in Los Angeles, which, since the opening, attracts many clients doting of European elegance. Good price, style please. Success is present.

In addition to being a fashion designer, Max Azria is a businessman ambitious. In the 90s, he launched a line for men and asked superstars to wear his creations. He manages to dress the heroines of TV series: Rachel (Friends), Brenda (Beverly Hills) or Ally McBeal.

In 1996, he parades during the fashion week in New York. He multiplies the advertising campaigns and develops many lines Annexes: BCBGirls for teenage girls, To The Max for fans of sportswear. Max Azria bought the French label Hervé Léger.

In 2004, he launched Max Azria Atelier, a collection of haute-couture dresses worn on the red carpet by Halle Berry, Sharon Stone or Alicia Keys. In 2007 he agreed to create collections for Tex, the textile brand from Carrefour. Finally, in 2009 he created with Miley Cirus a line of wear for kids for Wal-Mart.
