in chemical engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and a Ph.D.
in chemical engineering from the University of Minnesota where he studied wound healing and tissue engineering.
For his work, Paul was the recipient of both a National Science Foundation Graduate Fellowship and the Whitaker Foundation Graduate Fellowship in Biomedical Engineering.
