Mr. Hanrahan previously occupied the position of President, Chief Executive Officer & Director at The AES Corp. President & Chief Executive Officer for AES China Generating Co., Ltd. and Managing Director at AES Transpower Holding Pty Ltd (both are subsidiaries of The AES Corp.), Chief Executive Officer for American Capital Energy & Infrastructure Management LLC and Principal at United States Navy (District of Columbia).

He received an undergraduate degree from United States Naval Academy and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
