Shinichi Ueyama

Mr. Ueyama was appointed as Advisor of Advantage Advisors in August 2020.
His responsibilities include providing management advice to the executives of portfolio companies.
He started his professional career at the former Ministry of Transport.
He later joined McKinsey & Company and became a Partner in 1992.
He left the firm in 2000 after serving more than 20 large companies with their corporate restructuring.
He subsequently served in many roles including Research Professor at Georgetown Public Policy Institute, Research Professor at Keio University’s Graduate School of Media and Governance, and Adjunct Professor at Osaka City University’s Graduate School for Creative Cities.
Currently he also serves as Full Professor at Keio University’s Faculty of Policy Management.
In addition to serving as a part-time executive director, auditor, and strategic advisor at various private companies, he has been serving as executive advisor in public service such as Executive Adviser to the Governors of Tokyo Metropolitan Government, Osaka Prefecture and Aichi Prefecture and to the Mayors of Osaka City and Niigata City.
He also served as the Chair of Policy Evaluation Committee at the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism.
He also had experience as a secondee to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
He was also a board member of the Business Model Association, the Public Policy Studies Association Japan, and the Japanese Society for Public Administration.
He published almost 30 books including “Change Management”, “Public Administration Reform”, and “Reinventing Osaka”.
Mr. Ueyama received Bachelor of Law from Kyoto University and received Master of Public and International Affairs from the Woodrow Wilson School at Princeton University.
