In his past career Mr. Williams was Chief Operating Officer & Executive Vice President for Rio2 Ltd. and Chief Operating Officer & Executive Vice President at Rio2 Ltd. (a subsidiary of Rio2 Ltd.), Vice President-Operations of Tahoe Resources, Inc. and Vice President-Operations of Rio Alto Mining Ltd.

Mr. Williams received a graduate degree and an undergraduate degree from Western Australian School of Mines.
