Richard Peter Menell is a South African businessperson who has been the head of 12 different companies. Presently, he holds the position of Co-Chairman for City Year South Africa Citizen Service Organisation and Chairman for Palaeontological Scientific Trust.

He is also Chairman of Carrick Foundation, Council Member at Business Leadership South Africa and Director & Council Member at the University of the Western Cape and on the board of 9 other companies.

In his past career Mr. Menell was Executive Chairman of African Rainbow Minerals Ltd. and President & Chief Executive Officer of Teal Exploration & Mining, Inc. (a subsidiary of African Rainbow Minerals Ltd.), Chairman of South African Tourism Board, Chairman at Bateman Engineering Pty Ltd. (South Africa), President & Member at Chamber of Mines of South Africa, President for Minerals Council South Africa, Chairman at Avgold Ltd., Chairman at Bateman Engineering NV and Chairman for Credit Suisse Securities Johannesburg (Pty) Ltd.

Mr. Menell received an undergraduate degree and a graduate degree from Trinity College, Cambridge and a graduate degree from Stanford University.
