GLOBAL MARKETS:

Earnings season. Adecco, Alstom, Anheuser Busch Inbev, Arkema, Axel Springer, BMW, Davide Campari, Endesa, EssilorLuxottica, Ferrari, Henkel, Intesa, Pandora, Solvay, Petrobras, Ambev, Allergan, Emerson, Regeneron and CLP Holdings are among companies reporting earnings today.

A $1 billion change of heart. Anadarko now supports Occidental Petroleum's bid, which offers $38 billion, rather than Chevron's. The Board of Directors unanimously decided that Occidental's new version of the offer is a "superior proposal" to Chevron's. As a result, Anadarko will have to pay Chevron a termination fee of $1 billion, as planned.

AB Inbev confirms the IPO. Anheuser Busch InBev has confirmed a plan to list a minority share of its division in Asia. A way to better value these assets and free up funds to reduce the group's debt.

Bitcoin keeps going up. The Bitcoin price continues its bullish trend and is now approaching the first major technical objectives of the upward turnaround that took place between December 2018 and the first quarter of 2019, at $6,200.

F2i wins. The board of directors of Telecom Italia have welcomed F2i's offer for the subsidiary Persidera, according to Reuters, while CFO Piergiorgio Peluso resigned, replaced by Giovanni Ronca. F2i reportedly submitted a firm offer in the €240 to €250 million range according to the latest rumors.

In other news. Chinese Luckin, a competitor of Starbucks, wants to raise nearly $600 million by going public in the United States. PepsiCo will invest $4 billion in Mexico by the end of 2020, with its partner Grupo Gepp, notably for a new plant. The American International Group share price rose sharply after its quarterly figures. H. Lundbeck will buy Abide Therapeutics for $400 million. Rio Tinto will purchase a fleet of autonomous mining vehicles from Caterpillar.
