Earnings season. Allianz, JCDecaux, Mediaset, Pirelli, Salvatore Ferragamo, ThyssenKrupp, Charles Schwab, Takeda, Nissan Motor, Shiseido, and Agilent are among companies reporting earnings today.

Carlos Ghosn returns. Kyodo Agency reveals that the Tokyo prosecutor's office has reportedly requested that its indictment against Carlos Ghosn (Renault) for aggravated breach of trust be amended to include elements relating to alleged money transfers between Nissan's former boss and a Saudi friend.

Vinci adds Gatwick to his palette. By integrating London Gatwick, the group becomes the second largest airport operator in the world. Vinci has completed the acquisition of 50.01% of the capital of London's infrastructure, which is perpetually owned and is the second largest platform in the United Kingdom. Vinci-operated airports will now handle more than 240 million passengers per year, including 46 million in Gatwick.

EuropaCorp collapses. French director Luc Besson's company's share price plunged by more than 30 % to EUR 0.67. EuropaCorp has been placed in safeguard proceedings for six months. The objective is to take advantage of the protection to clean up a very deteriorated balance sheet.

All the way to the dregs. Another setback for Bayer AG, after a California jury ordered the subsidiary Monsanto to pay more than $2 billion in damages to a couple blaming Roundup for their cancer. This is the third consecutive trial lost in the United States by the German group, which will appeal. Several thousand complaints have been registered across the Atlantic concerning glyphosate.

Traton, the return. Volkswagen made several announcements yesterday, including its intention to list its Traton truck division on the stock exchange before the summer break, a €1 billion investment in a battery plant and a study to set up a new plant in Europe. Traton's initial public offering will depend on market conditions, which led the company to abandon its project last March.

In other news. Mercedes (Daimler) plans to sell only CO2-neutral cars from 2039 onwards. Vodafone sold its New Zealand subsidiary for €2.1 billion to two funds. The professional messaging platform Slack wants to go public on June 20 on the American stock exchange, while the latest big technological IPOs are being heckled, just like Uber, who lost another 11% yesterday.
