Being a member of our Engineering team, the mold CAD designer will work along with teammates to develop/adapt mold concepts to integrate our induction solutions for Heat&Cool applications in injection and compression molding. The Engineering team includes mold CAD and simulation experts to develop and validate our solutions at design stage. In this team, the mold CAD designer will be in charge of designing/adapting molds for 3iTech integration to provide an optimal performance, from concept up to final CAD ready for machining. The mold CAD designer may also travel (on a case-by-case basis, mainly in Europe) to overview the technology deployment at our customers' sites.

Job Description

For each of the following topics, the mold CAD designer will be in charge of:

  • CAD design of ROCTOOL systems in molds
  • Internal and customer relationships
  • Analyzing customer mold and part CADs inputs
  • Adapting existing mold CAD concepts for parts similar to existing applications
  • Developing new 3iTech integration concepts for new applications/parts
  • Providing CAD and associated drawings to toolmaker for mold build-up
  • Follow-up of the manufacturing of specific Roctool components
  • Assisting Roctool other entities (Business units, Business Developers, Program Managers, Subsidiaries, …) in explaining the technical choices in mold design to customers and their toolmakers;
  • Working as a pair with our simulation engineers for 3iTech design optimization

Key Skills

  • Global know-how in plastics processing (and/or composite molding)
  • Mastering CAD dedicated software (main one being SOLIDWORKS)
  • Excellent knowledge of mold design requirements
  • Able to develop innovative mold design concepts for integration of our solutions for new types of parts
  • Able to use efficiently standard MS Office tools (Word, Excel PowerPoint, …)
  • Some experience on injection simulation software, ideally Autodesk Moldflow Insight, would be a plus.

Experience

Mold CAD designer with at least 3 to 5 years of experience in the field, preferentially being used to work in an international environment or with international customers.

Other skills and qualifications

The candidate should have the following skills:

  • Global know-how in materials processing (plastics, composites, …);
  • Mastering CAD dedicated software (main one being SOLIDWORKS);
  • Excellent knowledge of mold design requirements for materials molding (specifically plastics, composites, …);
  • Ideally knowledge of mold design requirements for Roctool Heat&Cool technologies;
  • Able to develop innovative mold design concepts for integration of our solutions for new types of parts;
  • Able to use efficiently standard MS Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.);
  • Fluent English (spoken and written); French would be a plus;
  • Team-worker but autonomous;
  • Ability to meet deadlines and achieve results;
  • Ability to work in an international, matrix organization.
