This season, Gieves & Hawkes' ready-to-wear collection is unashamedly luxurious, masculine and versatile; presenting modern British style at its finest. Contemporary tailored outerwear, suiting and separates mix refined fabrics with polished designs, rich colours and sophisticated textures throughout. In contrast to the relaxed looks and lightweight layers of last season, this collection sees a strong return to tailoring; with emphasis on the house's timeless cut and silhouette. Elegant suits form the backbone of the collection, and mix the conventional navies and greys of winter with softly flecked or checked fabrics. Highlights include a slate grey three-button suit cut in British wool sharkskin with patch-and-flap pockets, and a charcoal three-piece flannel suit with a striking teal overcheck. There's also a rust coloured two-piece suit cut in superfine flecked wool, and a suit that mixes checks and stripes across its sleeves and foreparts for a striking impression. This story continues through the collection's separates and outerwear. Whether a tweed sports coat or a navy blazer with a mottled overcheck, jackets are cut in substantial fabrics and sophisticated colours. Throughout, tailored pieces are mixed with fine merino rollnecks, as well as softly textured shirts in brushed cotton or needlecord. Ties are equally textural for a modern look.
