AUTOSTRADA DEI FIORI: VIADUCT «MADONNA DEL MONTE»
Imperia, November 24th 2019 - Autostrada dei Fiori S.p.A. discloses that an exceptional landslide event, originated by exceptional rainfall in the region of Savona during the last few days, detached by the pick of the mountain above the Torino-Savona motorway and not belonging to the Concession Company, hit "Madonna del Monte" viaduct around 2 pm, causing the fall of 20 meters platform in Torino direction.
Autostrada dei Fiori technicians immediately went to the place with the Fire Department, Civil Protection and Police Department in order to coordinate the first rescue and verify the presence of people and vehicles involved, to manage the viability and put on safe the whole area.
So far, any people and/or vehicles don't seem involved. The effort of the Company is driven to confirm this situation.
Autostrada dei Fiori technicians are verifying the integrity of the viaduct in the Savona direction, that doesn't seem damaged by the landslide
The motorway, cautiously, will remain closed in the stretch between Millesimo e Savona, towards Savona, and between Savona e Altare, towards Torino, till all the investigations are needed.
All the activities are managed in coordination with the Infrastructure Ministry, the Prefettura, Liguria Region and Savona Province.
