On December 5, 2019, as part of the official visit of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Federal Republic of Germany in Berlin, the Memorandum of Understanding was signed between JSC NC 'KazMunayGas' (hereinafter KMG) and the German transnational chemical company Linde Aktiengesellschaft (Linde AG).

The memorandum was signed by KMG Chairman of the Board Alik Aidarbayev and Dr. Christian Bruch, member of the Board of Linde AG. According to the document, the parties intend to cooperate in the field of utilization and processing of natural and associated petroleum gas in the Republic of Kazakhstan, including in the field of technology transfer, training and the exchange of experience.

'I am convinced that the Memorandum of Understanding signed today will give a new impetus to the gas processing sector, and our future partnership will bring investments, technologies, new jobs to the economy of Kazakhstan and the country's oil and gas complex,' Alik Aidarbayev noted in his speech at the meeting.

Recall that in October 2019, KMG and Linde AG experts discussed the possibility of creating a joint venture as part of a project to build a gas processing plant in the city of Zhanaozen in the Mangistau region of Kazakhstan.
