GLENDALE, Calif. (AP) _ Avery Dennison Corp. (AVY) on Wednesday reported fourth-quarter earnings of $162.5 million.

The Glendale, California-based company said it had profit of $1.92 per share. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring gains, came to $1.73 per share.

The results exceeded Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of five analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $1.68 per share.

The maker of office products posted revenue of $1.77 billion in the period, which missed Street forecasts. Three analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $1.78 billion.

For the year, the company reported profit of $303.6 million, or $3.57 per share. Revenue was reported as $7.07 billion.

Avery Dennison expects full-year earnings in the range of $6.90 to $7.15 per share.

Avery Dennison shares have decreased 1% since the beginning of the year, while the Standard & Poor's 500 index has increased slightly more than 1%. The stock has increased 32% in the last 12 months.
