DEERFIELD, Ill. (AP) _ Fortune Brands Home & Security Inc. (FBHS) on Wednesday reported fourth-quarter profit of $104.1 million.

The Deerfield, Illinois-based company said it had net income of 74 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs and asset impairment costs, were $1 per share.

The results beat Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of seven analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 97 cents per share.

The maker of products for the home, like faucets, cabinets, windows and doors posted revenue of $1.47 billion in the period, which did not meet Street forecasts. Six analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $1.48 billion.

For the year, the company reported profit of $431.9 million, or $3.06 per share. Revenue was reported as $5.76 billion.

Fortune Brands Home & Security expects full-year earnings in the range of $3.83 to $4.03 per share.

Fortune Brands Home & Security shares have increased nearly 3% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Wednesday, shares hit $67.22, an increase of 56% in the last 12 months.
