Dai Nippon Printing Co., Ltd. has announced a lightweight dye-sublimation printer, the DNP QW410, which weighs less than 13 pounds and is designed to make it easy for a photographer or photobooth operator to travel to events, according to a press release. The printer's reduced power consumption of approximately 35% enables photographers to run battery-powered operations for longer periods, the company said.

"DNP has spent a lot of time designing the new QW410 to ensure its size and features meet the needs of its customers, and we're excited to introduce it to the market," Shinichi Yamashita, president of DNP Imagingcomm America Corp., said in the press release.

The QHD 4.5-by-8-inch Pano Print format can accommodate high-definition 16:9 aspect ratio images without cropping. The printer is also equipped with a mechanism that reduces the curl of the media.

Featuring a 4.5-inch print head, the QW410 offers a variety of print sizes, including 2- by-4-inch, 3-by-4-inch, 4-by-4-inch, 4-by-6-inch and 4.5-inch-by-4.5-inch, as well as the new 4.5-inch-by-8-inch (APS-H) format and more. It is iOS-compatible with a wireless adapter, allowing photographers to take the printer into the field and print photos from anywhere.
