OAK BROOK, Ill. (AP) _ TreeHouse Foods Inc. (THS) on Thursday reported fourth-quarter net income of $15.5 million, after reporting a loss in the same period a year earlier.

On a per-share basis, the Oak Brook, Illinois-based company said it had net income of 27 cents. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, came to $1.10 per share.

The results topped Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of six analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $1.09 per share.

The food maker posted revenue of $1.14 billion in the period, missing Street forecasts. Five analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $1.16 billion.

For the year, the company reported that its loss widened to $361 million, or $6.42 per share. Revenue was reported as $4.29 billion.

TreeHouse expects full-year earnings in the range of $2.40 to $2.65 per share, with revenue in the range of $4.1 billion to $4.4 billion.

TreeHouse shares have decreased 5% since the beginning of the year. The stock has fallen 23% in the last 12 months.
