The Boys and Girls Club of America (BGCA) has a special place in the hearts of many at Old Navy, especially Romell Thomas, Assistant General Manager at our Eisenhower M/P store in Macon, GA. He joined his local club when he was 7 years old. BGCA taught him how to embrace his talents, overcome his fears and tap into his leadership qualities to help land him a job at Old Navy. As a manager, Romell believes in leading from the heart and having a solutions-oriented mindset. He enjoys coaching and developing his team members and celebrating and acknowledging their wins!

Read on to see what makes Romell #oldnavyproud.

THE BEST PART ABOUT WORKING ON YOUR TEAM: The best part of my job is finding solutions to problems with my team. Whether it's planning store events or constantly evolving our store experience, I enjoy the challenge. I always try to remind myself and others that being a leader doesn't always mean you have to know everything about the business. Leaders should also enjoy the experience of being a student and learning new things with your team. Leaders are the heartbeat of Old Navy!

HONORING + CELEBRATING BLACK HISTORY MONTH: We constantly educate the staff that we value the diversity of fashion - in our customers and employees and remind them to keep this month's importance alive and people aware.

VALENTINE'S DAY PLANS: My leadership team and I are planning some special activities to show kindness, love, and teamwork. And, we're hosting a potluck so teammates can show their appreciation of others.

FAVORITE PURCHASE FROM OLD NAVY: COZY SOCKS, of course!

BELONGING AT OLD NAVY MEANS: Loyalty, truth, and understanding. When we're able to champion these qualities we're able to provide the best customer service possible as a family!

WHY YOU'RE #oldnavyproud: I'm proud and honored to work for a company that values being involved in the community. BGCA has had such a strong impact on my life, and I'm thankful that Old Navy allows its employees to give back to such an amazing community resource. I enjoy being a community leader for my team and sharing my experiences with them about the good deeds they do through our partnership with BGCA. Giving back is good for the heart!
