RICHARDSON, Texas (AP) _ RealPage Inc. (RP) on Thursday reported fourth-quarter profit of $20.2 million.

On a per-share basis, the Richardson, Texas-based company said it had profit of 21 cents. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, were 48 cents per share.

The results exceeded Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of four analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 47 cents per share.

The provider of real estate software posted revenue of $254.8 million in the period. Its adjusted revenue was $255.2 million, also topping Street forecasts. Four analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $251.7 million.

For the year, the company reported profit of $58.2 million, or 60 cents per share. Revenue was reported as $989 million.

For the current quarter ending in April, RealPage expects its per-share earnings to range from 41 cents to 43 cents.

The company said it expects revenue in the range of $277 million to $281 million for the fiscal first quarter.

RealPage expects full-year earnings in the range of $1.95 to $2 per share, with revenue ranging from $1.17 billion to $1.19 billion.

RealPage shares have risen slightly more than 2% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Thursday, shares hit $55.05, a fall of almost 10% in the last 12 months.
