The industries at Bangladesh Small and Cottage Industries Corporation (BSCIC) industrial estate in Pabna are continuing their activities amid the coronavirus outbreak to ensure supply of medicines and essentials.

Pabna BSCIC has been following all the coronavirus health guideline and maintaining hygiene in the industrial area, said a press release.

According to Pabna BSCIC sources, a total of 167 industries out of 203 have been continuing production during the coronavirus pandemic.

Five units of Square Pharmaceuticals Ltd are producing medicines while 120 food industries, 14 light engineering goods industries, four thread industries, four chemical industries and two printing and packaging industries have been continuing production.

Square Pharmaceuticals Ltd exports medicines to Europe, Africa and the ASIAN countries worth Tk 50core after meeting local demands, it said.

Besides, 500 tonnes rice, 350-400 tonnes lentil of various types, 7-8 tonnes mustard oil are being produced everyday here for supplying to northern region of the country.
