MILWAUKEE (AP) _ ManpowerGroup Inc. (MAN) on Tuesday reported first-quarter net income of $1.3 million.

The Milwaukee-based company said it had net income of 3 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for restructuring costs, came to 71 cents per share.

The results fell short of Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of four analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 73 cents per share.

The staffing company posted revenue of $4.62 billion in the period.

Manpower shares have dropped 36% since the beginning of the year. The stock has dropped 36% in the last 12 months.
