ANNUAL - Every year since 2016, the Malaysia Airports Ceremony of Ramadhan Malaysia Airports has often colored charity project activities in an effort to provide cheer to the less fortunate students in the upcoming Aidilfitri celebration. Under the #MYAirportCARES initiative, the Ramadan Celebration Program was conducted under the framework of the Corporate Airports (CR) Malaysia Airports program known as Airport @ Community aimed at alerting the community around airport operations under the control of Malaysia Airports.

This year, 88 students from three schools were selected, namely SK Cyberjaya, SK Bukit Tampoi and SK Sungai Melut in the vicinity of Sepang where the KL International Airport (KLIA) and its second terminal, Klia2 operate. In previous years, Malaysia Airports would sponsor eligible students by taking them to the supermarket to enable them to choose their favorite outfits besides giving away goodies and goodies.

Although the annual activities that are entering its fifth year of operation could not be continued this year due to adherence to the Movement Control Order (CPP) which did not allow mass rallies to curb the spread of the Covid-19 epidemic nationwide, Malaysia Airports through #MYAirportCARES did not stop his effort was to change the concept of the way of donating the organization's donations so that it could continue to entertain students who were from less fortunate families.

Malaysia Airports group chief executive officer Dato 'Mohd Shukrie Mohd Salleh said, 'Although this year we could not physically bring them out to pick up holiday accessories at the supermarket like last year since 2016 due to the requirements in the Control Order The movement (CPP) and adhering to the new norms, however, is not a hindrance for #MYAirportCARES to continue to inspire these students in celebrating Aidilfitri which will take about 10 days. Therefore, in continuing our efforts to help them even under the current circumstances, we are giving a fresh breath of relief to these students and hopefully with this help, we can at least give them some joy in welcoming Aidilfitri. '

With the resources and approaches available, the airport operator has now given a slight twist in the delivery of their assistance to keep these students fortunate. Malaysia Airports has taken proactive steps by purchasing essential items from their counterparts at airports in the form of dry food, personal care and health sets and hampers of chocolates to be given to selected students. In addition, the students also received a cash cover.

'Malaysia Airports remains committed to lightening the burden of the public who have also been affected by the outbreak of the Covid-19 outbreak and at the same time can provide a sense of fun in line with our branding promise of maintaining a happy relationship,' added Mohd Shukrie.

The program saw the donation of RM84,000 on behalf of Malaysia Airports to representatives of the three schools held in the lobby of the Malaysia Airports Corporate Office in Sepang with minimal attendance. Also contributing to the program were the #MYAirportCARES volunteers comprising Malaysia Airports employees themselves, especially from the Aviation Security Division (AVSEC) and the Airport Fire and Rescue Service (AFRS) who brought packages of dry food, personal necessities and hampers for the purpose of distributing to schools involved.

In addition to the Cheerful Ramadhan Program, as a result of the outbreak of the Covid-19 outbreak, the #MYAirportCARES initiative was created for the purpose of showing support from Malaysia Airports in taking a united role in the country's efforts to curb the outbreak.
