In order to master these logistic challenges even during the Corona crisis, va-Q-tec started a unique partnership with the Danish logistics company DSV and the US airline United Airlines. The cooperation ensures one of the most important transport routes for the regular transport of blood plasma despite the limited flight operations: Once a week a Boeing 787 from the United Airlines fleet now exclusively transports the product temperature protected by va-Q-tec's containers. The reliable handling of the logistics processes is controlled by DSV.

In times of travel restrictions and grounded planes, the entire logistics industry is under increasing pressure. Transports of life-saving pharmaceutical products have become more difficult. Strong cooperation offers solutions: In order to overcome these logistical challenges even during the Corona crisis, va-Q-tec started a unique cooperation with the Danish logistics company DSV and the US airline United Airlines. This partnership secures one of the most important transport routes of blood plasma despite the limited air freight capacities: Once a week a charter solution with a Boeing 777 from United Airlines exclusively transports blood plasma temperature controlled in va-Q-tainers, from the United States to Australia. The reliable handling of the logistics processes is coordinated by DSV.

Transport and storage of the blood plasma have to be carried out deep-frozen at below -23 °C. va-Q-tec's containers are predestined for these transports: In addition to their outstanding performance they can be used multiple times, which among other things also makes them environmentally friendly. They also prevent dry ice, a hazardous material which is prohibited by most airlines, from having to be used for this temperature range.

Christopher J. Storch, Global Head of Sales of va-Q-tec, comments: 'Especially in these challenging times strong collaboration, high flexibility and agility are vital. We are very happy to have DSV and United Airlines as reliable and solution-oriented partners. Thanks to this close partnership it is possible to secure the transport of life-saving blood plasma from the US to Australia.'
