The Hong Kong and China Gas Company Limited (Towngas) has always demonstrated its commitment to shouldering corporate social responsibility and serving society.

The Company has organised a wide array of community activities in various neighbourhoods over the years as part of our efforts to give back to the public. With Dragon Boat Festival upon us today, Towngas is upholding its tradition of giving rice dumplings to those in need to share our love and care with them during this festive occasion.

This year, Towngas is distributing rice dumplings to 20 local non-government organisations (NGOs), including SAHK, United Labour Chi Hong Association Limited, and The Volunteers, so that different members of society can share in the joy of enjoying this festive treat and being a part of our caring community. Through our District Councillors, Towngas also shared rice dumplings with residents in various parts of the city, bringing this year's total of distributed rice dumplings to over 150,000.

In previous years, Towngas had organised various themed activities: The Company's volunteers joined hands with schoolchildren from Hong Chi Association to prepare low-carbon organic rice dumplings and offer them the opportunity to experience organic farming first hand. On another occasion, the volunteers collaborated with dwarfism patients and their family to wrap rice dumplings in a bid to spread the message of love, care and inclusivity.

Through gifting rice dumplings to underprivileged groups, Towngas aims to share the warmth of a caring community with the needy through festive treats.

Since the launch of the Rice Dumplings for the Community event to celebrate Dragon Boast Festival in year 2000, a cumulative total of over 4 million rice dumplings have been distributed in the span of two decades.
