- The company announces the official opening of its newly refurbished products showroom, located in Sanbu-gun, Chiba.

- The showroom features six full-scale models of Otis' Gen2® elevators equipped with features such as its destination management system, Compass® 360.

- Visitors can better imagine the future of travel and passenger movement by seeing the Otis products that can be integrated into new and existing buildings.

TOKYO, Japan, July 2, 2020 ---Nippon Otis Elevator Company(hereinafter 'Nippon Otis') announced the official opening of its newly refurbished products showroom, located in its Elevator Logistics and Engineering Center, in Sanbu-gun, Chiba. First opened in 1991, the showroom has been used to host customer visits and educational events for local children. Showroom visitors will be able to better imagine the future of travel and passenger movement by seeing the Otis products that can be integrated into new and existing buildings. The showroom will feature a variety of products such as Otis' Gen2® elevators and various innovative solutions with the latest options like the company's Compass® 360 destination management system (DMS), eViewTM, and Ambiance car aesthetics.

'Our showroom is designed to allow our visitors to have a holistic experience such as through visual and sensory feel of the featured products. I look forward to welcoming our visitors at this showroom,' said Guillaume Renaud, President of Nippon Otis.

The showroom's six full-scale Gen2® elevators are equipped with features such as dedicated DMS screens giving visitors a clear understanding of how cars are optimally dispatched to each floor and how wait times are reduced. It also offers on-site demonstrations of the use of security cards to call elevators, a VIP mode setting, and controlled operation during situations such earthquake, power failure, or fires. Visitors can witness these demonstrations from both within and outside the elevators.

Through the Gen2® Premier model, visitors will receive first-hand experience of its latest offerings, including the Ambiance car interior design; eViewTM, and multilingual displays with announcement that can be shown in Japanese, English, Korean and Chinese.

  • Ambiance aesthetics - creates a space that overflows with a sense of luxury. The four corners of the car are slightly rounded with floor-to-ceiling vertical lighting in the corners that envelops passengers in a soft light.
  • eViewTM- an in-car screen of the car that provides customized information to passengers, including building news, weather reports, and traffic information in real time.
