EBay : Launches First-Ever “Collector-Con,” Announces Series of Special Exclusives on the Latest Non-Sports Trading Cards

eBay, one of the largest destinations for trading cards, unveils Collector-Con, a month-long celebration of exclusive non-sports trading card specials from drama and sci-fi to street art misfits, available only on eBay. Throughout the month of August, the marketplace is releasing new limited exclusives every week beginning August 3 at 8 a.m. ET /5 a.m. PT at www.eBay.com/tradingcards through Aug. 24. Collectors can get eBay x Topps Crossover x Garbage Pail Kids their hands on the latest cards from Umbrella Academy, Melty Misfits by Buff Monster and more.

From sci-fi superheroes with the return of The Umbrella Academy's second season to celebrating Garbage Pail Kids' 35th anniversary to a Buff Monster Melty Misfits special, eBay's series of weekly drops has something for every collector. Check out what's dropping this August below.

Monday, Aug. 3: The Umbrella Academy, Season One Trading Cards ($29.99)

• Just in time for The Umbrella Academy's second season premiere on Netflix, Sci-Fi Hobby, a division of Rittenhouse Archives and a specialist in nerd-friendly collectible cards, will be releasing the first ever batch of Umbrella Academy trading cards, and eBay is offering a limited 500 set run of exclusive cards.

• Each pack will include nine character cards from Umbrella Academy's first season, featuring 'Number 1' Luther Hargreeves, 'Number 2' Diego Hargreeves, 'Number 3' Allison Hargreeves, 'Number 4' Klaus Hargreeves, 'Number 5,' 'Number 7' Vanya Hargreeves, Hazel, Cha-Cha and Pogo.

Monday, Aug. 10: Garbage Pail Kids, eBay and Topps Crossover ($19.99/10 pack)

• After Topps introduced Garbage Pail Kids in 1985, they have become a cultural institution. Now, 35 years later, eBay is celebrating Garbage Pail Kids by partnering with Topps for the first time to offer an exclusive 10-card set. Created by Joe Simko, each card is representative of buying and selling on eBay.
• Exclusive will only be available for for 7 days start date 8/10 4 a.m. PST end date 8/16 9 p.m. PST.

Monday, Aug. 17: Surprise Collector-Con Drop

• Together with Cryptozoic, fans should check www.eBay.com/tradingcards at 5 a.m. ET / 8 a.m. PT to get access to a surprise-drop.

Monday, Aug. 24: Buff Monster The Melty Misfits Special Series 3 Pack ($5.00)

• Since 2012, Buff Monster's Melty Misfits sets have paid homage with the look and feel of vintage Garbage Pail Kids cards. This month, eBay is offering an exclusive pack called The Golden Melties, featuring four random cards alongside three additional cards of never before seen artwork based on the three Golden Tickets from Buff's original Series 3 packs.
• The pack will also be accompanied by a free promo card for the next series of The Melty Misfits, available via eBay at NYCC.
