NEW YORK (AP) _ ExlService Holdings Inc. (EXLS) on Thursday reported second-quarter profit of $8.4 million.

On a per-share basis, the New York-based company said it had profit of 24 cents. Earnings, adjusted for stock option expense and amortization costs, were 53 cents per share.

The results beat Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of seven analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 32 cents per share.

The provider of outsourcing services posted revenue of $222.5 million in the period, which also topped Street forecasts. Six analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $208.6 million.

ExlService Holdings expects full-year earnings in the range of $2.60 to $2.80 per share, with revenue in the range of $922 million to $938 million.

ExlService Holdings shares have decreased roughly 6% since the beginning of the year. The stock has climbed slightly in the last 12 months.
