EWING, N.J. (AP) _ Antares Pharma Inc. (ATRS) on Thursday reported second-quarter net income of $2.2 million, after reporting a loss in the same period a year earlier.

On a per-share basis, the Ewing, New Jersey-based company said it had net income of 1 cent.

The results exceeded Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of four analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for a loss of 1 cent per share.

The drugmaker posted revenue of $32.4 million in the period, which also beat Street forecasts. Four analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $29.2 million.

Antares Pharma expects full-year revenue in the range of $135 million to $155 million.

The company's shares closed at $3. A year ago, they were trading at $2.98.
