Cargill's new Managing Director Cocoa focuses on innovation and customer service

The Netherlands - 11 October 2012 - Philippe Huet has been appointed as the new Managing Director Cocoa for Cargill's cocoa & chocolate business.

Huet takes over from Harold Poelma, who made a major contribution to developing the company's innovation and sustainability programme and has taken up a new challenge - as Managing Director of Cargill Refined Oils Europe.

Commenting on his appointment Huet said: "I am very much looking forward to my new role. Focusing on our customers will be a particular priority for me, ensuring that we provide them with the best possible service, and with the support necessary for them to develop innovative solutions for their businesses.

"We will continue building on the work of my predecessor in the area of sustainability. Our leadership in sustainable cocoa is now well established, and we have dedicated teams in place to support and further develop our strategy to secure the long term sustainability of cocoa production."

Since joining Cargill in 1995, Huet has held various managerial positions across the company. In 2005 he joined the management team of Cargill's cocoa & chocolate business as Commercial Director for the cocoa division, leading the product sales, cocoa bean origination, and risk management activities.

Most recently Huet has overseen the successful integration of German chocolate manufacture Kakao Verarbeitung Berlin (KVB) into Cargill's cocoa & chocolate business, making Cargill the largest chocolate producer in Germany and the second largest in Europe.

Jos de Loor, President, Cargill Cocoa & Chocolate said: "I would like to welcome Philippe to his new role. We are all looking forward to working with him and ensuring that our business continues to go from strength to strength."
