Gazprom neftekhim Salavat is to install two automated real-time air quality monitoring stations in the town of Salavat.

Air quality monitoring stations will make it possible to obtain accurate data on the quality of air in the town of Salavat in a real-time mode. The project is being implemented within the framework of the Investment Agreement between the Republic of Bashkortostan and Gazprom neftekhim Salavat. The Company's investments in the project stand at more than 64 million rubles.

The stations include up-to-date equipment: gas analyzers for determining the content of nitrogen oxides, carbon oxide, hydrogen sulfide oxides, ammonia, sulfur oxide and dust analyzers. Automated gas chromatographs will be able to determine the presence and concentration of aromatic hydrocarbons, methanol, dimethylamine, ethylene and other contaminants in the ambient air. In addition, air quality monitoring station is equipped with ultrasonic weather station to measure such meteorological parameters as air temperature, relative humidity, atmospheric pressure and amounts of precipitation automatically.

Air quality monitoring stations will be located in the southern and northern parts of the town. The first station will be put into operation in September, 2020. It will be transferred to the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Bashkortostan and will be integrated into the automated system Unified Urban Environmental Monitoring Database.

Establishment of the effective environmental monitoring system is essential part of the Company's Environmental Policy. Accredited environmental analytical laboratory, as a part of the Company, monitors air quality on the point sources of pollution, on the borders of sanitary protection zone and in the town. In 2019 the laboratory performed 17335 measurements in residential area of the town, of which 2602 were based on complaints of the town residents. The results of the measurements are forwarded to the Company's management and to Interregional Authority No. 72 of the Federal Medical and Biological Agency of the Russian Federation, Russian Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing of the Republic of Bashkortostan in the town of Salavat.
