Kudos&Co. Inc. is leading the movement for safer social media
experiences for kids. The company just launched a whole new social
sharing experience for its popular application where kids have fun
sharing pictures, reactions and comments while learning to be good
digital citizens. As part of the roll-out, Kudos&Co moved its
headquarters from Oslo, Norway to Silicon Valley, opened offices in
Tiburon, California and 24-hour global moderation, support and AI
centers in Bozeman, Montana and Oslo, Norway.
Kudos&Co has secured $5.73m in seed funding, enabling the company to
increase business development and marketing efforts and continue to
expand its engineering and leadership team. Also added are key
executives from Pixar, Disney, Instagram, EA, Google and DreamWorks who
are dedicated to creating an entirely unique social media experience
built just for kids.
“At Kudos&Co, we are committed to creating a kid-driven community where
users are encouraged to create, connect and share with other kids around
the world,” said Ole Vidar Hestaas, CEO and co-founder of Kudos&Co. “We
have worked tirelessly to create the ultimate experience for children
and are working with some of the most talented people in the business.
We look forward to expanding the capabilities of our platform and
bringing positive sharing to the global stage.”
Since 2014, Kudos&Co has been working with thousands of beta users,
mostly under the age of 13, to better understand kids’ needs and their
interest in social sharing. Most social apps are not appropriate or safe
for young children. In response, Kudos&Co is developing the Kudos
platform, bringing together the social features that kids enjoy in a
monitored and more secure environment that parents appreciate. Focused
on positive sharing, Kudos is a fun, engaging experience that empowers
kids to build a community around the things that matter to them while
inspiring and supporting others.
Kudos is a free app available for download in the App
Store and on Google
Play. The app requires parental consent for use and posting, giving
parents peace of mind as well as updates on their child’s activity.
Founded in 2014, Kudos is leading the movement for safer social sharing
for kids. Backed by an outstanding team of existing leaders and former
executives from Disney, Google, Dreamworks, Pixar, Stanford, Instagram,
EA, and Unity, Kudos is building a safer place where kids can use the
power of social media to build a more compassionate and kinder world.
