MSG Network to Telecast Boston University vs. Cornell Hockey Game
Live from Madison Square Garden

Third Red Hot Hockey Matchup Set for Saturday, November 26 at 8:00 p.m.

New York, NY (November 22, 2011) - MSG Network announced today that for the first time it will telecast the Red Hot Hockey game between Boston University and Cornell University live from Madison Square Garden on Saturday, November 26 at 8:00 p.m. The matchup, which is expected to be sold out, is the third installment of the rivalry in New York City following games in 2007 and 2009.

The telecast will feature MSG Network's Bill Pidto calling play-by-play and "HOCKEY NIGHT LIVE" contributor Billy Jaffe as color analyst. Boston University's student radio play-by-play announcer on WTBU in Boston, junior Paul Ryan, will also contribute to the telecast as a reporter in the first intermission.

"We're excited to bring our audience Red Hot Hockey, featuring two of college hockey's premiere programs, for the first time," Dan Ronayne, executive vice president and general manager, MSG Networks. "MSG Networks telecasts more hockey than any network in the country, so it's a great opportunity and a natural fit to add one of the year's most anticipated collegiate hockey events to our programming schedule."

The BU-Cornell rivalry dates back to 1925 and includes two matchups in the NCAA title game (1967, 1972). BU has won the national championship five times (1971, 1972, 1978, 1995 and 2009), while Cornell has claimed the title twice (1967, 1970). Cornell leads the all-time series 23-17-2, but the schools have only met sporadically since BU left the ECAC to join Hockey East in 1984-85.

The inaugural Red Hot Hockey game in 2007, which BU won 6-3, reunited the two teams for the first time since 2002. The teams met again at the Garden in 2009 and tied 3-3 for only the second draw in the series history. Both games were played in front of sold out crowds.

MSG Networks telecasts over 300 live NHL games each year and "HOCKEY NIGHT LIVE," the only comprehensive hockey show in the New York area, every Saturday night throughout the hockey season.
