WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin on Wednesday said U.S. officials were not currently scheduled to go to Beijing for the next round of negotiations, CNBC reported.

Mnuchin spoke to reporters ahead of a House Financial Services Committee hearing.

U.S.-China trade talks came to a standstill earlier this month as the world's two largest economies failed to come to an agreement following two recent rounds of discussions in Beijing and Washington.

Since the last round of negotiations ended May 10, U.S. President Donald Trump has increased tariffs on Chinese imports and threatened to levy all remaining goods from China.

On Tuesday, Chinese Ambassador to the United States Cui Tiankai told the Fox News Channel that Beijing was still open for talks.
