Swisscom Blockchain AG, subsidiary of Switzerland-based telecommunications provider Swisscom, has appointed Lukas Hohl as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

Swisscom Blockchain AG offers blockchain technology consulting and project services to companies across all industries, and has been a driving force behind the development of blockchain applications since 2017. In conjunction with other Swisscom units, it also supplies basic technology, such as a secure infrastructure for blockchain applications (Hyperledger Fabric) or the Tokenization Launchpad for token generation. Since the departure of Daniel Haudenschild in January of this year, the Swisscom subsidiary has been managed on an interim basis by Roger Wthrich-Hasenbhler, Chief Digital Officer of Swisscom.

Hohl, an experienced leader and entrepreneur, will take over the CEO position starting May 1. Over the past 15 years, the 41-year-old ethereum engineer and Harvard Business School alumnus has held various roles at BearingPoint, Swisscom, Sofgen and Synpulse, advising numerous financial companies on business and IT topics in Asia, the USA and Switzerland and leading various consulting teams. In addition to this, Hohl has helped set up an offshore development team in Manila (Philippines) for Sofgen and the US business for Synpulse.

With Hohl as CEO, Swisscom Blockchain AG will continue to pursue the previous blockchain strategy and drive the further expansion of the company.

In the past, Lukas Hohl has built up and managed companies, managed complex large-scale projects, is well connected in Switzerland and internationally, and fits excellently into the young team of Swisscom Blockchain AG, said Wthrich-Hasenbhler.

Technology that fundamentally revolutionizes existing systems, a young, talented team and an agile environment with our customers and within Swisscom what more could you ask for? said Hohl
