The Philadelphia Joint Board/Workers United, representing Philadelphia area laundry workers, will hold a press conference in the City Council Caucus Room, 4(th) Floor, Philadelphia City Hall on Thursday, October 30, 2014, at 12:00 pm to announce the filing of a class action lawsuit against Olympic Linen and Laundry Services for underpayment of minimum wages and overtime pay.
Olympic Linen and Laundry Service provides laundry service to some of Philadelphia's most expensive hotels, including The Hyatt at the Bellevue.
A number of speakers, including two people who work for Olympic, as well as area political leaders, will make remarks.
In conjunction with the lawsuit, the Union will also release details on Clean Philly, a campaign to end worker abuses and wage theft in industrial laundries in the Philadelphia metro area.
