Oils for healing, cleansing and holy anointing are mentioned over 500 times in the Bible. Moses and his priests used them to protect the Israelites from disease. Mary and Joseph received frankincense and myrrh from the Wise Men and they used them to keep the infant Jesus and themselves healthy. Holy oils are used today in our Church for sacraments, such as baptism and anointing the sick, and the resin of frankincense is burned at special Masses and at funerals.
Come, learn, enjoy and experience the holy healing oils of frankincense and myrrh during an informative Advent event on Wednesday, December 11, at 1 p.m. at St. Bartholomew Church in Cape Elizabeth. Each participant will receive complimentary small samples of both essential oils to take home.
Class size is limited so pre-registration is required. Please contact Michelle Valcourt at 207-883-0334.
