Semtive, a new American renewable energy company with headquarters in Silicon Valley, today introduced NEMOI, one of the world’s most efficient, safe and affordable wind turbines for residential, commercial and industrial generation of power. NEMOI uses a new turbine system that is highly reliable, environmentally friendly and virtually noiseless - producing clean renewable energy “on and off the grid” from very low to very high wind speeds. Energy from NEMOI is generated at about $.02 per kWh.

The pre-sale of the NEMOI turbine system begins May 16, 2017.

“Our vision was to create an efficient and socially impactful energy solution that can be used by anyone, anywhere in the world to democratize access to clean renewable energy, and NEMOI’s unique design and technology has allowed us to attain this goal,” explained Semtive CEO Ignacio Juarez. “Additionally, our turbines are produced in America and distributed locally, which significantly reduces the carbon footprint and the shipment cost of traditional wind turbines.”

Employing New Technology and Vertical Axis Design

Semtive uses advanced technology and R&D to create the NEMOI Wind Turbine System, which can work within a wide operating window. Thanks to the design of the blades and vertical axis, the inner side can generate torque at very low wind speeds to start the turbine spinning. In this way, the turbine can generate electricity from less than 10 RPMs of wind. NEMOI is also lightweight and can be delivered and assembled in less than an hour anywhere in the world, operating with equal efficacy on or off the grid, from densely urban to rural environments and areas in urgent need of humanitarian relief.

More than 95 percent of the Semtive turbine is made from aircraft-grade aluminum, a highly resilient and recyclable metal that is resistant to corrosion, so the turbine comes with a lifetime guarantee. Semtive turbines are also designed to be virtually silent, generating less than 38 dB of noise (less than a whisper) when operating through an average wind speed of 35 mph.

According to the American Wind Energy Association (AWEA), wind power is the fastest-growing source of electricity in the world. Wind energy supported over 100,000 well-paying American jobs in 2016, including 25,000 manufacturing jobs, according to the US Department of Labor. In addition, wind power produced $7.3 billion a year in public health savings in 2015 by cutting pollutants that create smog and trigger asthma attacks and other lung diseases, according to the Harvard School of Public Health.

About Semtive

Semtive offers high quality, safe and affordable vertical axis wind turbine systems for urban, remote and humanitarian use. Semtive systems are highly efficient and virtually noiseless, producing clean renewable energy, “on” and “off” the grid. With several years of successful operations, Semtive is a relatively young company, yet advanced in the use of new technologies and R&D in the wind turbine industry. NEMOI wind systems are made from long-lasting, 100% recyclable aluminum and the company offers a lifetime warranty on all turbines, subject to correct installation.
