Investors remain on edge over the U.S and China’s trade conflict and await more clues from the Federal Reserve on monetary policy. This situation penalizes major U.S. stock indices, from banks to materials firms to consumer staples. In 2019, the 14 ETFs exposed to US Consumer Staples sectors show an outstanding cumulated performance of 19,44% even after the yesterday market session and investors poured new $ 2,7 bn into that segment over the same period. Even over the last 30 days which were more volatile, they continue to invest into these ETFs with net inflows of $ 1,5 bn recorded on the primary market. The US Consumer Staples stocks segment gather 14 ETFs, exposed to 13 indices, for a total of $ 20,8 bn of assets under management.
