(Alliance News) - The Lazio Regional Administrative Court (TAR) has rejected the appeal filed by Iliad Italia against the decision by the Italian Competition Authority (AGCM) not to launch an investigation into the transaction that saw Poste Italiane acquire exclusive control of Telecom Italia, Milano Finanza reported on Thursday.

According to the administrative judges, the antitrust regulator correctly concluded that the operation did not constitute a prohibited concentration and exercised its technical-discretionary powers appropriately.

The court, the newspaper continued, also dismissed Iliad's claims regarding potential anti-competitive effects of the deal, ruling that the Authority's assessments were reasonably supported by the evidence gathered during the proceedings.
