MUNICH (dpa-AFX) - Allianz has completed the sale of the first tranche of its Indian holdings. A 23 percent stake in two property and insurance joint ventures has been sold to the Bajaj Promotor Group for 2.1 billion euros, the DAX-listed company announced on Thursday. The sale of the remaining 3 percent stake is expected to be finalized by the second quarter of 2026. According to the statement, proceeds from the sale could also be invested in new joint ventures in India.
According to Allianz, the company expects to realize a non-operational gain of around 1.1 billion euros from this transaction in the first quarter. This is likely to have a positive effect of around five percentage points on the Solvency II capital ratio./mis/err/jha/
