Alstom announced on Monday the signing of an agreement to supply 55 Traxx locomotives to Ukraine, in a deal valued at 470 million euros.
The locomotives, which are dual-voltage and specifically adapted to meet the requirements of Ukrainian infrastructure, will be delivered starting in 2027, Alstom said in a statement.
This contract announcement comes as Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is received on Monday by his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron for an official visit, part of ongoing efforts to strengthen Kyiv's military capabilities in response to the advance of Russian forces.
