STORY: Anthropic has raised $30 billion in a new funding round that more than doubled the Claude chatbot maker's valuation to $380 billion.
The round included a portion of previously announced investments from Microsoft and Nvidia.
Anthropic, backed by Google and Amazon, has differentiated itself by focusing its model training on coding.
Claude Code gained strong traction among developers, helping the company gain an edge over rivals in the enterprise AI market.
A recently launched series of plugins for its Cowork agent has also sparked a brutal selloff in global software stocks.
The company has also rapidly grown sales.
Anthropic says revenue has hit an annual rate of $14 billion, with Claude Code contributing more than $2.5 billion after more than doubling since the start of 2026.
