Apollo Sports Capital agreed to acquire 55% stake in Club Atlético de Madrid S.A.D. from Quantum Pacific International Limited, Ares Management Corporation (NYSE:ARES), Miguel Ángel Gil and Enrique Cerezo on November 10, 2025.

Gil and Cerezo will continue to lead Atlético de Madrid as Chief Executive Officer and President, respectively, and will remain shareholders. The deal is subject to regulatory approval and is expected to close in the first quarter of 2026.

Apollo Sports Capital completed the acquisition of 55% stake in Club Atlético de Madrid S.A.D. from Quantum Pacific International Limited, Ares Management Corporation (NYSE:ARES), Miguel Ángel Gil and Enrique Cerezo on March 12, 2026. As part of the transaction, the Quantum Pacific Group (QPM) will retain substantially all of its previously held stake and be the second-largest shareholder, while Miguel Ángel Gil and Enrique Cerezo as well as Ares funds will remain as shareholders. Miguel Ángel Gil and Enrique Cerezo will continue to lead Atlético de Madrid as Chief Executive Officer and Chairman, respectively.
