Board game company Asmodee has entered into an agreement with streaming giant Netflix, which has acquired the exclusive global rights to adapt the board game Ticket to Ride. This was announced in a press release.

The deal covers both scripted and unscripted projects across film, TV series, and other formats, marking the first-ever film and television adaptation of the game.

The first project to be developed under the agreement is a feature film with a script by Ben Mekler and Chris Amick.

The board game Ticket to Ride has sold over 20 million copies and has been translated into more than 30 languages over the course of 21 years.

In October last year, Asmodee and Netflix also signed an agreement for adaptations of the board game Catan.
