Boeing delivered 46 airplanes in January, beating its European rival Airbus.

The aerospace and defense company on Tuesday reported 107 gross orders during the month, with net orders of 112 jets after adjusting for cancellations, conversions, and other factors.

The January numbers pulled Boeing ahead of Airbus, which reported 19 deliveries and 49 gross orders in January.

Boeing said it shipped 37 737 MAXs to buyers including United Airlines, which received six planes, and American Airlines and SunExpress, which each received four.

Boeing shipped nine widebody jets during the month.

The 46 deliveries represented the highest January delivery count since before the pandemic, the company said.

Backlog stood at 6,196 planes as of Jan. 31, Boeing said.
