Representatives from China's Ministry of Commerce and more than 60 German companies and organizations have discussed the economic cooperation between the two countries.

During the roundtable on Thursday, concerns from the German side regarding public procurement, intellectual property protection, and the business environment were addressed, the Ministry of Commerce in Beijing announced on Friday. Germany and China reaffirmed their commitment to a fair and stable business environment. The meeting was attended by representatives from major corporations such as BASF, BMW, and Bayer.

According to the ministry, Deputy Minister of Commerce Ling Ji, who chaired the meeting, indicated that further opening of Chinese markets was on the horizon. This would offer enormous opportunities for German-Chinese economic relations. Ling highlighted the potential for cooperation in areas including climate technology and digitalization. China also hopes that German companies will increase their exports of high-quality products and technologies to the People's Republic. The talks also included the German Chamber of Commerce as well as Chinese authorities such as the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) and the Patent Office.
