U.S. corn and soybean shipments fell back from numbers seen last week, according to the first set of inspections data reported by the USDA covering the onset of the conflict in Iran.

In its weekly report Monday, the USDA said that soybean export shipments inspected for the week totaled 879,190 metric tons, down from 1.16 million tons at this time last week. Corn shipments, meanwhile, dropped to 1.52 million tons versus the previous week's total of 1.16 million tons, although are up year-over-year from this time last year.

Corn was down from 1.84 million tons at this time last year, while soybeans were up 857,466 tons. This week's wheat inspection figure of 496,108 tons exceeded figures from both this time last week and this time last year.

China was the top destination for both U.S. wheat and soybeans for the week. Mexico was the leading destination for U.S. corn.

CBOT grain futures are mixed after starting the day stronger, with most-active corn futures down 0.2%, soybeans up 0.2%, and wheat down 0.4%.
