Daimler Truck's Japan Unit, Foxconn to Set Up Electric Bus Maker

Daimler Truck Holding's Japan unit and Foxconn Technology Group plan to set up a bus maker in the second half of this year, to develop and sell electric buses in Japan and internationally.

The Daimler Truck unit, Mitsubishi Fuso Truck & Bus, and Foxconn said Thursday that the new company would combine Fuso's expertise in design, development and manufacturing of buses with Foxconn's zero-emission vehicle technology and global network.

Fuso Bus head Katsuto Kora will be the chief executive of the new company, which will be based in Kawasaki, Japan, the companies said.
